Profile
Christine Stephens joined the firm in 1988 and became a partner in April 1990. With the benefit of her extensive experience she offers her clients a high quality service that combines a practical approach with pro-active advice and planning. Knowledgeable and approachable, she is client focused in her work. Her strong communication skills allow her to assist clients with the financial aspects of running their business and complying with their statutory obligations in a clear and logical manner. She enjoys working with her clients to help them to solve their problems and realise their ambitions.
Christine is a General Practice partner with a broad client base. She deals with personal tax clients, sole traders and partnerships, as well as limited companies, and pension schemes. The focus of her clients is also wide-ranging, and includes several property companies of varying sizes. The scope of her work means that Christine can assist with all levels of query, from establishing good practice in the day-to-day running of a business through to complex planning and compliance work. She also has considerable experience in dealing with HM Revenue & Customs on behalf of clients both large and small.
After gaining her BSc in Accounting and Statistics from Southampton University, Christine trained with Grant Thornton (then Thornton Baker) in Portsmouth. She qualified as an Associate with the Institute of Chartered Accountants in 1983 and became a Fellow in 1994. Her long tenure as a Partner at Sheen Stickland has enabled her to focus on building long-standing professional relationships with her clients, giving her a unique perspective and the ability to provide individually tailored advice.
Christine is married with two teenage daughters. When at home she enjoys sewing, swimming and spending time in her garden. She also loves to travel and visit new places.
