Profile
Elected senior partner in April 2003, Colin Matthissen joined the firm as an audit manager in 1982 and became a partner in 1985. With considerable experience in his field, Colin works closely with his clients to ensure that they get the advice that they need. His expertise and attention to detail allows them to make considered, pro-active decisions at the right time.
Colin heads up the corporate finance team and focuses on business advisory work. His clients are predominantly owner-managed companies, branches and subsidiaries of overseas companies, partnerships, trusts and private individuals. Colin assists his clients with all aspects of running a business and planning for success. In addition to corporate finance work and giving general business advice, he particularly enjoys working on fiscal valuations and transfer pricing.
He studied Management Sciences at Manchester University and was awarded his Bachelor of Science Degree in 1979. Building on this academic background, he then undertook his accountancy training with Ernst & Whinney in Southampton. During this time he focused mainly on audit and gained a strong background in compliance work.
In 2006 he was amongst the first to be granted the Corporate Finance Qualification by the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales.
Colin is married with two children. He enjoys walking in the local countryside, as well as travel further afield.
