Profile
David became a partner in April 2000, having joined the firm in 1996. His technical expertise, combined with a calm approach and willingness to listen, allow him to deliver appropriate, structured and considered solutions to his clients. He applies a practical, commercial approach to problem solving, always weighing up the costs against the benefits, and explaining the issues in a clear, straightforward manner. Working with businesses of all shapes and sizes, he provides a high calibre, timely service, always tailored to the specific requirements of each individual client.
With over twenty years in the profession, David has advised on the preparation and audit of accounts for small, medium sized and PLC/charitable entities, as well as on company formation and structure, group/company restructuring, and business disposals and acquisitions. David also has a strong background in Corporation Tax planning, Corporation Tax transfer pricing issues, structuring tax-efficient remuneration for owners/directors together with a myriad of other business advisory matters. He has considerable knowledge and experience of international business issues, such as the conversion of UK statutory accounts into international format for company flotation purposes.
After gaining his Bachelor of Arts degree in Accounting and Business Studies from Liverpool University, David trained and qualified as a Chartered Accountant with a top ten national practice based at their Southampton office. During this time he provided audit, statutory accounts, Corporation Tax and business advisory services to a diverse and broad range of client types from small owner managed businesses to charities to quoted PLCs.
Married with two children, David is a keen sports enthusiast. However he now find that he spends more time supporting his children as they compete in horse riding , swimming, netball, cricket, rugby, tennis and football rather than playing himself. David is Treasurer and Manager of Crusaders Football Club, who compete in the Hampshire 2004 League. He is also the Independent Accounts Examiner for the local Church, Primary school and W.I. Branch.
