Each member of our strong tax team has extensive experience in dealing with the issues that face taxpayers under the Self Assessment tax regime.
Because we seek to establish strong professional relationships with our clients, you will be appointed an individual adviser who will manage your case on a day to day basis. This ensures that you will be consistently dealing with someone who has a clear understanding of your tax affairs. Of course, you will also have access to the expertise of the entire team. This approach allows us to give pro-active advice on minimising your current tax liabilities and planning effectively for the future.
If appointed to act as your advisor we will complete your return, together with the necessary computations, seek your approval and then submit them to the Revenue on your behalf. We will calculate any amounts due and ensure that you are kept aware of approaching deadlines on order to avoid costly fines and interest. If you are due a repayment of tax we will liaise with the Revenue to push for a prompt refund.
In preparing your return, we will use our expertise to your advantage to ensure that you do not pay more tax than you need to. For Hospital and Medical Practitioners, our specialist knowledge means that we can ensure your income and expenses are reported correctly.
The Self Assessment regime also requires tax payers to calculate any tax due on Capital Gains incurred in the year. This can be particularly daunting in the face of complex legislation in this area. We can ensure that you claim all expenses and reliefs available to you.
HM Revenue & Customs launch a number of tax enquiries each year. Even if your tax return is complete and correct, you could still find yourself faced with numerous questions and demands for information. We can help by corresponding on your behalf and supporting you at meetings. If further tax is proved to be due we can help negotiate the terms under which it will be repaid to HMRC. We can also arrange insurance to cover the cost of fees should you be picked for an enquiry in the future.
