We had a great day at this year’s Alresford Agricultural Show at Tichborne Park on 1st September 2018 which was the largest so far, the fantastic weather ensured a record number of visitors to the showground.
The show is one of the highlights of the local farming year and attracts many entrants for the livestock and horse classes together with many trade stands including our own. Our agricultural team and other members of staff were on hand to chat with people about their accountancy and taxation needs over a drink and some wonderful cakes supplied by Mange 2. Our Sheen Stickland bags proved very popular and we were proud to sponsor the Open Ridden Hunter class again this year.
We had a large number of entrants for our competition to guess the number of flowers in our cow’s head flower display created by local florists Wildbunch. The prize for the children’s competition was a Binky Bear Alresford Gift Set ; we had two winners whose guesses were equally close to the correct answer of 315. The adult prize of two bottles of local Hattingley Valley wine was won by Rose McCullagh-Butler whose guess was only one flower out.
We are already planning next year’s show and look forward to meeting new friends and old.
