Paul qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1988 having trained with BDO Binder Hamlyn in their London and Bristol offices where he was promoted to Audit Manager before leaving in 1990 to join an 11 partner firm of Chartered Accountants based in Bristol. He became the Audit Partner for the firm in 1992 and whilst there focused largely on owner managed businesses and developing the corporate finance arm of the practice.
Paul joined Sheen Stickland in 2002. The focus of his work is the range of advice offered to the firm's charity and voluntary sector clients. This advice includes not only the statutory audit and accounts compliance work but also specific advice to charities, including taxation, governance, risks and reserves and trustee roles and responsibilities. In 2008 he gained the Diploma in Charity Accounting which was awarded by the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales.
Paul is also a Governor at Bourne Community College and Chichester College.
