Proud sponsors of the CLA Breakfast

Sheen Stickland is proud to be sponsoring the CLA Breakfast again at the annual Surrey County Show on Bank Holiday Monday, 28th May. This year, the focus will be on tourism, and includes a talk from Paul Cook, the National Trust’s Project Director for Clandon Park. Paul will be providing an insight into the plans to 'restore, rebuild and re-imagine' after the catastrophic fire in 2015 and how the ambitious plans may be a model for generating more rural tourism.

The much-anticipated event will provide great insight for farmers and landowners who are looking to diversify or develop new income streams, including those boosted by tourism such as holiday accommodation. The breakfast is a lively and informative part of the popular Surrey County Show held on the 66-acre site of Stoke Park near Guildford town centre. It’s the biggest agriculture show in the UK and the attractions demonstrate the best of the industry and offer a great day out for all the family.

This year, as well as fantastic shopping opportunities from local artisans, the Countryside Arena will offer visitors a taste of falconry, gun dogs, terrier racing, fly fishing, beagles and the Welsh Axemen throughout the day. In addition, the welcome return of the Surrey Food Theatre will see celebrity chef Brian Turner joining local chef Dan Britten and writer and naturalist Tiff Francis and there will be a range of stalls including Pool Gin, Bake with Jack and Albury Vineyard.

The Bolddog Lings motorcycle stunt team will show off their heart stopping tricks and there is more excitement to be had when international horse and rider combinations will compete in the Grand Prix and County Stakes Show jumping classes in the Grand Arena. Amongst the attractions for children, the Merrist Wood Petting Farm is sure to be a firm favourite with a whole menagerie of animals. Other child-friendly attractions include The Sheep Show, Punch & Judy, Mike's Donkey Rides, face painting and the vintage funfair.

As ever, from the varied events to the show animals, the Surrey County Show highlights the very best of local agriculture and rural business. We support many such businesses with tailored accountancy support and we know first-hand that this is a vibrant industry and that these events are not to be missed. We’re very proud to be returning as a sponsor and help this industry thrive and showcase the very best it has to offer.
