Philip is a specialist in Agricultural and Rural Tax and Succession Planning, awarded a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mathematics and Economics from the University of Strathclyde, Philip began his accounting career with Roffe Swayne Chartered Accountants in Haslemere. He left the practice in 1993 to take up the post of Head of Finance and Company Secretary for United Agricultural Twines, a major merchant distributor of agricultural crop packaging products who had a turnover of £14m at that time and were based in Alton.
Having joined Sheen Stickland in 2001, Philip became a Partner in April 2003. Philip uses his expertise to develop nuanced Inheritance Tax and Succession Planning solutions for his farming and rural clients. The Agricultural Team Philip has developed provide a comprehensive accounting and tax service, whilst been keenly aware of the needs of their clients.
Whilst Philip specialises in agricultural and rural businesses, he also continues to serve a variety of clients from other industries, utilising his technical knowledge and business experience to support, advise and provide solutions for his clients’ business and taxation issues.
Married and a proud father of three young adults, Philip previously served as a Governor to Alton College and was Chair of the Audit Committee for 9 years. Philip is currently a trustee of Holybourne Complin Trust providing alms-houses for the local community and a committee member for the North-East Hants Ploughing Society.
